What it is

Regenerative Moxi is a combination protocol — Sciton Moxi laser delivered alongside Advanced Biologics, a regenerative injectable, in the same visit. The laser opens micro-columns in the skin; the injectable delivers growth factors that amplify the collagen response.

Standard Moxi resurfaces and stimulates collagen on its own. Regenerative Moxi adds an injectable component that supports the healing window after the laser pass — accelerating recovery, deepening the regenerative response, and adding biologic support that pure-laser treatment can't replicate.

Because it pairs a laser tech with a nurse practitioner, Regenerative Moxi is performed by two providers in sequence — a Licensed Medical Esthetician (Heather or Sara) for the laser pass, and Marisa Dulin, MSN, FNP-C for the injectable component. Both happen in the same visit.

The protocol

A deliberate sequence — not a one-time visit.

01

Consult

Skin assessment with your aesthetician + nurse practitioner together. We map treatment areas, calibrate Moxi settings, and confirm your candidacy for the Advanced Biologics injection.

02

Pre-treatment prep

Pause retinoids 3 days prior. Arrive product-free. Sun exposure in the 2 weeks prior requires rescheduling. Hydrate well.

03

Laser pass

30-45 minutes of Moxi laser by your Licensed Medical Esthetician. Sensation: gentle warmth, tiny static-shock feeling. Topical numbing for sensitive patients.

04

Advanced Biologics injection

Marisa Dulin (FNP-C) delivers the Advanced Biologics injection immediately after the laser pass — while micro-columns are still open and able to absorb. The injectable is delivered through a fine cannula or microneedle.

05

Recovery

Same trajectory as standard Moxi — pink flush day 0, bronzing days 1-2, fine peeling days 3-5, smoother glowing skin emerging by day 7. The biologic component generally supports faster recovery than Moxi alone.

06

Series

3-4 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Quarterly maintenance afterward keeps the regenerative response active.

Questions

What patients often ask.

Why combine Moxi with Advanced Biologics?+
The Moxi laser creates microscopic columns in the skin that briefly remain open after treatment. Delivering Advanced Biologics during that window allows growth factors to reach a deeper layer than topical application could ever achieve. The combined regenerative response — laser-induced collagen stimulation plus biologic support — is meaningfully greater than either treatment alone.
What is Advanced Biologics?+
Advanced Biologics is the patient-facing name for the regenerative injectable we use (formulation: Lilium Pure). It contains growth factors that support skin regeneration, collagen synthesis, and post-procedural healing.
How is this different from regular Moxi?+
Regular Moxi is laser-only — a single provider, single tool, ~30-45 minutes. Regenerative Moxi adds the Advanced Biologics injection by a nurse practitioner immediately after the laser pass. Costs more, recovers slightly faster, and produces a more robust regenerative response. Most patients try standard Moxi first; Regenerative Moxi is for those ready to amplify outcomes.
Why does it cost more than the parts?+
You're paying for the Moxi laser pass plus the Advanced Biologics product plus a second provider's time in the room. The pricing reflects the combination, not the sum of separate visits.
Can I do BBL or microneedling with this?+
Not in the same session — Regenerative Moxi is already a combined protocol. BBL is best done as a separate session for color correction. Microneedling can be sequenced between Moxi sessions for additional collagen support.
Is the recovery worse than standard Moxi?+
Generally no — the biologic component tends to support faster recovery, not slow it down. The Moxi-driven phases (pink flush, bronzing, peeling) all run on a similar timeline. Some patients report less inflammation and faster smoothing with the injectable.
Is it safe for darker skin?+
Yes — Moxi's 1927nm wavelength has low melanin absorption, making it one of the safer fractional lasers for Fitzpatrick IV-VI. Settings are conservative and pre-conditioning with ZO brightening skincare is recommended.
Who performs Regenerative Moxi at MODE?+
The laser pass is delivered by Heather Cyr, LME, CLT or Sara Espinoza, LME, CLT. The Advanced Biologics injection is delivered by Marisa Dulin, MSN, FNP-C. Both happen in the same visit.
